At the core of coaching is energy—the driving force behind your mindset and decisions. The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) defines energy in two key forms:

• Catabolic energy is reactive, draining, and fueled by stress and frustration. It can push action but often leads to burnout.
• Anabolic energy is proactive, empowering, and fosters growth, creativity, and long-term success.
Through coaching, you’ll learn how to shift your energy, break through barriers, and step into a mindset that fuels success and fulfillment.

Level 1
Victim Energy “I lose.”
Feeling powerless and believing external forces control your fate. Often leads to blame, frustration, and inaction, making change seem impossible.

Level 3
Acceptance Energy “I win.”
Focused on self-improvement and moving past obstacles without dwelling. Practical and goal-oriented but may avoid addressing deeper challenges.

Level 5
Opportunity Energy “Win/Win.”
Sees success as a shared experience, creating value for all involved. Ideal for business and relationships but can lead to distraction from too many opportunities.

Level 7
Total Awareness Energy
“Winning and losing don’t matter.”
Detached from ego and external outcomes, seeing things as they are. Allows for adaptability and deep insight, but not always practical in daily life.

Level 2
Conflict Energy “I win, you lose.”
Driven by competition, resistance, and proving oneself. Creates motivation but also stress, frustration, and eventual burnout if sustained too long.

Level 4
Compassion Energy “You win.”
Prioritizes helping and uplifting others. Strong in leadership and service roles but can lead to overextending oneself if not balanced.

Level 6
Synergy Energy “Everyone wins.”
Focuses on a broader impact beyond personal gain. Aligns with purpose-driven work and community efforts but requires practical execution to be effective.
